Portable Gas Analyzer

Individual four-channel portable gas analyzer for detecting and monitoring concentration of toxic and explosive gases (methane, ethane, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, carbon monoxide, hydrogen), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), oxygen (O2) and carbon monoxide (CO).
This device is equipped with exceeding alarm of permissible level of gas concentration in the air: two-color LEDs (red / green), vibration motor, and audible alarm. To display the measurement results the OLED color display with a resolution of 160x128 pixels is used, or USB interface.
Engineering challenges were solved: device body design in accordance with the requirements of explosion protection, shock resistance, dust protection and moisture protection. Minimization of the dimensions of the embedded electronics and the device itself.

Nowadays, at the age of global warming and pollution, people start considering effective ways of monitoring and minimizing the waste products from the manufacturers. One of the junk results is gas that influences not only the air but the whole environment greatly. However, there appeared a nice solution that helps significantly decrease its number through the analysis. It’s about the gas analyzer or a special detector.

What is the gas analyzer?

No matter, whether it’s a regular or a portable gas analyzer (GC), it’s a special device that allows engineers to do the analytical operation simpler through the measurement of combustion products. In fact, it’s a system that consists of the device itself and the application that is installed on the desktop of a computer. Such systems are quite complicated, but they generate accurate indices that are important in further optimization of the manufacturing process.

Besides, in some cases, there may be involved some additional instruments so the experts can measure the exhaust manually. For example, it can be done when the main installation accidentally came out of order, but there is a high necessity to perform continuous analysis.

What types are there?

As it was already mentioned, the emission gas analyzer is designed for constant measuring the combustion products. However, in order to get accurate results, you should install the proper device that is capable of working with a particular type of fuel sample. Thus, the natural gas analyzer can be of different types depending on the chemical element to be measured:

  • Oxygen (such as Orsat analyzer)
  • Helium
  • CO2
  • Ambient air
  • Flame
  • Toxic gases
  • Hydrogen
  • Nitrogen
  • Carbon dioxide
  • Liquid fuel

In addition, such devices also differ by the construction and auxiliary elements inside that help in the measuring process:

  • Infrared
  • Laser
  • Thermal and evolved gas (this type is installed on the Phoenix spacecraft)
  • Electro-galvanic
  • Single-beam
  • Dual-beam

Another category of analyzers depends on the method of analyzing. In particular, there can be a gas composition analyzer or a realtime gas analyzer that is installed directly in the flue and constantly tracks the fume. However, there can be also a hand-held gas analyzer that is used manually for measuring the levels of the component in a particular place.

Why are there necessary even for regular users?

The biggest problem of any type of gas is that they do not have any color and odor. Thus, regular users often don’t see and feel any changes in the enclosed space. It especially concerns people who live in detached houses and use natural gas for cooking or a fireplace that produces CO2. As you might have known, such a chemical element is really hazardous for people since it can cause sudden asphyxia and death. Moreover, fuel leaking is even more dangerous since any sparkle may lead to an explosion.

The basic example of a smoke or gas analysis system is usually installed in all buildings that allow saving valuable minutes in rescuing people in case of fire. That is why it’s highly recommended to have at least one of such detectors in your condo or a house.

How does it work?

Whether it’s a multi-gas or a biogas analyzer, the principle of its operation is usually the same unlike their construction. But, all of them consist of the input and output holes and the main chamber where the fume is collected.

The fume goes into the main chamber through the input hole. The main chamber has special sensors installed inside it that measure the level and quality of the required substance. Once the result is ready the fume is released through the output hole.

However, every device has its own software that allows specialists to visualize the results on the monitor. In fact, not all the suppliers of gas analyzing equipment provide it with specially designed applications. This may cause additional unexpected expenses for business or inaccurate work of the whole unit.
In order to be sure about the device you purchase, it’s better to deal with the trusted manufacturers that guarantee the high-quality and provides the customer’s support. Meanwhile, the Axonim company has enough expertise and provides all the necessary for customer satisfaction.
